The Studio for Playful Inquiry, founded and sustained by Susan Harris MacKay and Matt Karlsen of Opal School fame, is an inspired and inspiring group of educators from around the world who gather virtually on a regular basis to study issues pertinent to Reggio-inspired (or similar) educators. Among the Studio’s offerings are classes, amazing resources, and conversations with those who are doing courageous, innovative, and generative work in the field. In addition, educators get a forum to meet with educators facing the same struggles and experiencing the same joy that they do.
I’m excited to be collaborating with the Studio this coming month (September 2025) as participants read and “play” with my book, Embracing Challenges in Early Childhood Education: Flexible Protocols for the Thinking Teacher (Routledge, 2025).
